2 bold decisions RCB should take for their next game against Punjab Kings

RCB lost their recent game to Chennai Super Kings by 8 runs. The equation seemed heavily in favour of RCB but the lower middle-order failed to step up. The franchise might have now realized that having quality batters is more important than batting depth. RCB’s next opponent will be Punjab Kings. Here, we take a look at two bold decisions RCB should take for their next game against Punjab Kings.

1) Drop Wayne Parnell for Finn Allen

Wayne Parnell was not great against CSK. Yes, he did bowl a few decent overs but under pressure, he also leaked runs, despite being an experienced overseas import. Hence, in that regard, RCB could think of dropping the cricketer and strengthening their batting.

Finn Allen may not be an ideal middle-order batter but it is a bet worth taking. The Kiwi cricketer is known for his big-hitting and might actually come good for the franchise. RCB anyways needs to groom a wicket-keeper for the future and Finn Allen might just be the right option to start with.

2) Drop Dinesh Karthik for Rajan Kumar

To drop Dinesh Karthik for Rajan Kumar is one of the bold decisions RCB should take for their next game against Punjab Kings. If Parnell is dropped, RCB might need another left-arm seamer. They have only one domestic option and hence, Rajan Kumar could get a chance in the next encounter. He has shown a lot of promise in the domestic circuit and he could be a decent option to invest in.

On the other hand, a break for DK might be a good option. At times, he is making some basic errors behind the stumps while with the bat, he has not been great. For his standards, he should have completed the chase against CSK the other day. However, he looked rusty and hence, RCB could look to give him a break and give others an opportunity.
