​ECB Announced The Schedule For India’s Tour Of England In 2022

India’s upcoming tour of England: England has released their home cricket itinerary for the upcoming summer, which has started with the Test series against New Zealand ahead of the World Test Championship in the preceding season.

England will be playing their fifth Test of the ongoing bilateral series at Manchester, marking the completion of their second Test series of the summer. The first one resulted in them losing out to New Zealand and the current series has them pegged back as India surged ahead at the Oval, restoring their lead.

The schedule that confirmed India’s tour of England in 2022

Going by the latest schedule announced by the England the Wales Cricket Board, India who is currently involved in the ongoing Test series against England will once again be travelling there for an ODI and a T20 series in July 2022.

India will be indulged in three One Dayers and three T20 internationals as the current tour plan states. England will also be hosting South Africa as they will be up against the Rainbow Nation for three ODI’s, three Test matches and three T20Is. They will also be playing New Zealand in June 2022 in a three-match Test series.

ECB Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison confirmed the home itinerary by saying, “It has been a scintillating summer of cricket and so good to see crowds backpacking out venues later this summer. For next summer, I am pleased to be able to confirm three high-quality men’s international touring teams for 2022, starting with a three-Test LV= Insurance Series against World Test champions New Zealand.”

He concluded by saying, “We also look forward to India returning for two white-ball series before we host South Africa for what promises to be hard-fought series across three formats, including three LV= Insurance Test Matches.”

Dates for India’s tour of England in 2022

India’s white-ball tour against England will be starting with ODI’s and the first of the three will begin at Old Trafford on 1st July. The T20I series will kickstart with a clash at the Edgbaston on the 9th of July.

The last time these two teams met in a white-ball affair was in February as India demolished England comprehensively in both T20I’s and ODI’s. The last time India played white-ball cricket in England stems back to 2018, where India bagged the T20 series while England came back from behind to clinch the ODI series.
