WWE Announces 2 Big Segments For This Week’s SmackDown In Boston

WWE SmackDown will air live from Boston this Friday on FOX in the United States. It is the second last SmackDown episode before the biggest party of summer – SummerSlam 2022. Several big matches have been announced for the show, and to focus on the buildup of two of those bouts, the company has advanced two massive segments for this week’s SmackDown.

Brock Lesnar will make his return to SmackDown ahead of his much-awaited Last Man Standing match against Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. The second thing that WWE has announced is a face-off between the reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and the former champion Ronda Rousey.

Lesnar made a shocking return to the Blue brand after Roman Reigns beat Riddle in a championship match. WWE then announced a Last Man Standing match between the two arch-rivals. The company is also promoting the contest between the two Superstars as their last time ever match.

In a recent chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling, former WWE head writer Vince Russo opined that neither Lesnar nor Roman Reigns should be the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion.

“Listen, at the end of the day, it’s business. As much as these marks mark out, it’s business. So the bottom line is you want a champion literally that’s gonna be available to work 365 days a year. And I don’t think neither one of those [guys] are,” Russo argued.

Will Ronda Rousey turn heel on this week’s SmackDown episode?

The feud between Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey needs some heat. Their rivalry started at the Money in the Bank premium live event after Liv successfully cashed in her contract on Ronda who held the blue brand’s championship at that time.

Natalya tried to sneak into that SummerSlam match, but Liv defeated her and ensured that it is a singles match only.
