IPL recently announced that the final two games of the league stage will happen on the same day. This is to ensure that no teams will take the field knowing exactly what they will have to do to reach the playoffs or secure one of the top 2 positions. The last season, the game between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore was subject to criticism. This is because RCB was aiming for a playoff spot and KKR was also in the fray. However, KKR‘s game had got over and RCB knew exactly what to do in the final encounter to get to the final four. Despite losing the game, they ensured a higher NRR than KKR and hence, reached the playoffs.
To avoid a similar scenario, IPL has decided to host the final two games of the league stage on the same day. Hence, the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians match and the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals game will both begin at 7:30 pm. While the former game will take place in Abu Dhabi, the latter will take place in Dubai.

Since the streaming partner for IPL in India is the same, there could be confusion as to which channels will host which of the games on the final day. However, the exact schedule is now available for October 8th.
While the RCB vs DC encounter will be telecasted on Star 1, Star Select 1, Star Hindi, Star Tamil, Star Telugu, and Star Kannada, the MI vs SRH game will play on Star 2, Star 3, and Star Sports first.
