“Well done old man,” CSK skipper MS Dhoni appreciates fielding effort of Dwayne Bravo as he makes a diving save against Delhi Capitals

MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo have been playing together for CSK for more than a decade

Everyone knows about the great friendship that the CSK skipper MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo share between themselves and yesterday, it was on display when Dhoni actually trolled Bravo on the ground itself after he made a great save while fielding at the short cover position in the 17th over of DC’s innings.

Dhoni appreciated Bravo’s field efforts calling him an “old man”. It was the Sri Lankan mystery spinner Mahesh Theekshana who was bowling the 17th over for CSK with the game already done and dusted. As DC’s tail-ender Anrich Nortje punched a delivery through the off side, Bravo made a diving save and stopped the ball from going past him.

Since there was no fielder behind Dwayne Bravo at the deep cover position, it was going to go for a boundary if the ball had gone past Bravo. The moment Bravo stopped the ball, Dhoni’s familiar voice came from behind the stumps as he said, “Well done old man”.

MS Dhoni has talked about his camaraderie with Dwayne Bravo many times

MS Dhoni has talked about his camaraderie with Dwayne Bravo many times in the past as well and he had once said in one of his post-match interviews that Bravo is like his brother. And it’s because of the great camaraderie and the understanding between the two that they pass cheeky comments on each other quite regularly.

While Dhoni trolled Bravo calling him an old man on the ground, Bravo later trolled Dhoni after the game as he said while talking to the official broadcaster Star Sports that when he came out to bat in the last over of the innings, he took a single and gave Dhoni the strike to hit some sixes, but Dhoni made him run quick twos.

Bravo jokingly said that after the innings got completed, he told Dhoni if there were only three balls left next time in the innings and quick twos had to be taken, somebody else should go and run because he had to take care of his hamstring.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
