Most sixes hit by the batsmen in the 20th over in IPL

The last five overs in a T20 game are of prime importance. The side which can finish well with the bat tends to win most of the games. Over the years, we have seen many big hitters show their hitting prowess with the bat in the last few overs of the game in the IPL.

The likes of AB de Villiers, Andre Russell, M.S Dhoni have entertained their fans with some mighty hits in the last few overs of the innings. Let us have a look at the list of batsmen with most sixes in the 20^th over of the innings.

5. Harbhajan Singh- (15 Sixes)

The ‘Sardar from Jalandhar’ is a huge surprise on the list. ‘Bhajji’ is no mug with the bat and has an impressive 15 sixes to his name in the last over of the innings. He has played many important cameos with the bat for his previous franchise, the Mumbai Indians. The wily off-spinner has a fifty as well to his name in the IPL.

4. Hardik Pandya- (21 Sixes)

Hardik has emerged as one of the biggest hitters of the ball in Indian cricket. His hitting prowess against the spin bowlers is up there with the best. Despite having played just 6 seasons in the IPL, Hardik is fourth on the list with 21 sixes in the 20^th over. His strike rate of 155 is what makes him a genuine match-winner.

3. Rohit Sharma- (23 Sixes)

A surprising name on the list is the ‘Hitman’ from Mumbai. Despite being an opener, Rohit has registered 23 sixes in the 20^th over of the innings. This stat just illustrates the fact once he is in; he goes on to amass big scores. He is also one of the most consistent run scorers in the IPL, having more than 5000 runs to his name.

2. Kieron Pollard- (26 Sixes)

The big man from Trinidad and Tobago has a brilliant strike rate of nearly 150 in the IPL. Pollard has been a consistent performer for Mumbai over the years, helping them clinch the title on several occasions. This year as well, he has been in sparkling form, helping his side to the numero uno spot in the points table.

Pollard has 26 sixes to his name in the last over of the innings. He hit an impressive 3 sixes in the 20^th over against Krishnappa Gowtham in the game against KXIP in the IPL this year.

1. M.S Dhoni- (49 Sixes)

The ‘captain cool’ from Chennai has been one of the brilliant finishers in the history of the game. Who can forget his brilliant six against Corey Anderson to finish off the game against RCB at the Chinnaswamy stadium last year.  ‘Mahi’ as he is fondly called, has an impressive 49 sixes to his name in the 20^th over in IPL. Dhoni has an impressive average of 41 in the IPL at a sparkling strike rate of 137.
