Asia Cup 2022 Super Four India vs Pakistan: 2 players who might replace Avesh Khan in the playing 11

As per reports, Avesh Khan is set to miss the India vs Pakistan game on Sunday. In the press conference on Saturday, Rahul Dravid mentioned that Avesh was not keeping well. The Madhya Pradesh cricketer anyways was not in good form and there were expectations that he would be dropped. India does not have a backup in the pace department. Hence, a spinner or an all-rounder has to come in place of Avesh. The match will happen in Dubai on September 4th. Here, we take a look at two players who might replace Avesh Khan in the playing 11 for the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four India vs Pakistan match.

1) R Ashwin

R Ashwin is likely to be the player who will play the Super Four fixture against Pakistan. He is experienced, can easily give four overs of quality bowling and also adds depth to the batting line-up.

Since there are no other pacers in the squad, India must employ Hardik Pandya as the third seamer. The Baroda all-rounder did well against Pakistan and he must return with a similar impact. Since Ravindra Jadeja is also unavailable, India might not play Deepak Hooda because the bowling could get weaker then. Amongst the options, Ashwin is the most suitable considering his experience and versatility.

2) Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi is one of the players who might replace Avesh Khan in the playing 11 for the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four India vs Pakistan match. If India needs to go for an attacking option, they could field a double-leg-spin combination for the match.

Bishnoi is someone who could struggle if he has a bad day. However, if he is going well, batters can find it hard to face him. Also, one more factor is that none of the Pakistan players might have faced him. This element of surprise could help in a pressure game like an India-Pakistan clash. Therefore, Bishnoi could get a chance on Sunday.
