At just 24 years of age, Rishabh Pant played his 100th international match for the Indian cricket team.

Many fans would remember that Pant made his debut back in 2017 for the Indian cricket team. He was picked in the playing XI for the third T20I of the home series against the England cricket team at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Some big names were a part of the Indian playing XI then.

In this article now, we will look at that Indian playing XI and look at where those players are now.

Openers – Virat Kohli and KL Rahul

Virat Kohli opened the innings with KL Rahul in that game and scored two and 22, respectively. Both players actively play all three formats of international cricket for India now.

Middle Order – MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant

MS Dhoni scored a 36-ball 56 in Pant’s debut T20I. The debutant faced only three balls, scoring five runs. Dhoni has retired from international cricket but still plays regularly in IPL.

All Rounders – Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and Hardik Pandya

Three of India’s best all-rounders played in that game. Raina blasted a 45-ball 63, while Singh scored 27 runs from just 10 balls. Hardik scored 11 runs off four balls in the end. Yuvraj and Raina have now retired, while Pandya made a comeback to the Indian team recently.

Bowlers of Indian playing XI in Rishabh Pant’s debut match – Amit Mishra, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra, and Yuzvendra Chahal

India played with two specialist leg-spinners and two fast bowlers in that game. Yuzvendra Chahal stole the show with a six-wicket haul, while Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets.

Nehra has retired now. He became the first Indian head coach to win the IPL title this year. Amit Mishra has not played cricket for a considerable time, while Chahal and Bumrah are actively playing for India.
