“Not lucky and Exceptional reader of the game,” A Tweet about MS Dhoni goes viral after India gets knocked out from the 2022 T20 World Cup

India suffered a 10-wicket loss in the semi final against England.

A tweet related to former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has gone viral after India suffered a disappointing loss against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. A Twitter user highlighted the former Indian skipper’s highlighted record as a captain and said that the keeper batter knew how to find a match-winner out of anyone.

England thrashes India by 10 wickets to knock them out of the T20 World Cup 2022

In what was their 8th consecutive loss in the semi-final of the ICC tournament, India was at the receiving end of the 10-wicket thrashing at the hands of England. After a staggering performance in the group stage, they were expected to do well in the knockouts as well.

But that wasn’t the case as they displayed a poor performance with both bat and ball and saw themselves out of the tournament. India was asked to bat first but it was a poor show from their bed on a good pitch. Only Virat Kohli (50) and Hardik Pandya (63) stood tall and their innings powered their side to a total of 168 runs.

It was then expected that India would give a tough fight but they had no answers to the onslaught by English openers. Alex Hales and Jos Buttler took Indian bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them all over the park for their unbeaten 170 runs stand and made sure that they win the game by 10 wickets.

The loss against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 marked India’s 8th consecutive defeat in the ICC knockouts. After winning the champions trophy in 2013, India has failed to win a single ICC trophy. They lost T20 World Cups in 2014, 2016, 2021 and 2022 followed by Cricket World Cups in 2015 and 2019 and World Test Championship in 2021.

Following India’s loss to England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, a Tweet about Dhoni went viral. A user on the social media platform highlighted his record as a captain and said that the keeper batter knew how to find a match-winner out of anyone.

“MS Dhoni was not “lucky”. He was a bloody good captain and an exceptional reader of the game. He could find a match-winner out of anyone. That, my friends, is not luck. Being the only captain to win all three white-ball ICC trophies can’t be luck,” he tweeted.
