2 Indians who could make a comeback for the 2024 England Test series to counter Bazball

In Test cricket, the next big event will be the England Tour of India. This will happen at the beginning of 2024. The new approach of the England Test Team has worked against most teams. India is a strong opposition at home and it will be interesting to see if Ben Stokes and the team can succeed against the men in blue. India could have a few strategies to counter the “Bazball”. On that note, here, we take a look at two Indians who could make a comeback for the 2024 England Test series to counter Bazball.

1) Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has been out of action for a while now. However, as per the recent medical reports, he is recovering well. A few months ago, there was news that BCCI might push Pant to recover in time for the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, that might not happen.

Hence, the England series could be the right opportunity to get him back to the setup. Pant can take on the English spinners and not allow them to settle. This strategy could have an adverse impact on the England Team as England relies on stemming the flow of runs to take wickets. Taking out the spinners would also put pressure on the pacers in unhelpful conditions.

2) Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the Indians who could make a comeback for the 2024 England Test series to counter Bazball. He was dropped from Team India but Pujara did well in the recent Duleep Trophy. He would also have the Ranji Trophy to showcase his form.

England now likes momentum and Pujara is one player who can deny that to England. This could tire them and force the Englishmen to take up different plans. Also, Pujara has the technique to prosper against the England bowlers in Indian conditions.
