“I enjoy fours, I have hit sixes all my life,” Hardik Pandya reveals what was his gameplan against England in first T20I

Hardik Pandya was declared the player of the match for his allround performance with both bat and ball

The Gujarat Titans captain and India’s premier white-ball allrounder Hardik Pandya has revealed that when he came out to bat in the first T20I against England yesterday, he wanted to keep a high momentum of run-scoring, but he wanted to do that without taking high risks.

Hardik Pandya had a chat with Ishan Kishan after the game, a video of which was shared by the official Twitter handle of BCCI, where Hardik told Ishan that when he hits risk-free boundaries, he enjoys that a lot because as far as powerful sixes are concerned, he has hit those sixes all his life.

Hardik Pandya scored a brisk half-century and grabbed a 4-wicket haul

Hardik Pandya didn’t just score a brisk half-century for India in the game, he also got 4 wickets with the ball and the good thing about his bowling was that he bowled really quickly and it showed on the speedometer as well, because the first time in his international career, Hardik clocked 90 miles an hour on the speedometer.

Talking about his bowling, Hardik said he particularly liked the fact that he was able to clock that speed and all the credit for that goes to the trainers, masseurs, and other members of the support staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to get the players fit and in good condition to perform well with both bat and ball.

When Ishan asked Hardik what message he would like to give to those players who are struggling with their form and other issues at the moment, Hardik said that his message would be very simple – work hard. And when you work hard, you shouldn’t work hard keeping the results in mind, you should work hard for your own happiness because that puts you in a great frame of mind.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
