In the upcoming WWE Draft happening today, the future of all superstars is in question. Even the feuding Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar are no exception.
On SmackDown, about three weeks ago, Triple H, Head of WWE Creative, made a rare appearance and he made a major announcement. He announced that the WWE Draft would be happening in the coming weeks and claimed that “when it is all said and done, this year’s Draft will change the game.” WWE then revealed that it would be a two-night event starting on the April 28th edition of SmackDown. It will be ending on the May 1st edition of RAW.
According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, some top names of the company will be selected first. Some of these big names are Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, The Usos, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn.
These wrestlers will probably be in high demand during the Draft. Along with these marquee stars, other fast rising stars will also be early picks. Bright young talents like Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley who also hold gold are going to be top prizes for both brands.
Who will be the top picks in WWE Draft 2023?
In Meltzer’s words, “Obviously the first picks of the 2023 WWE Draft would be likely to be Brock Lesnar, Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Usos, Owens, Zayn, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley.”
The WWE Draft is always full of surprises and WWE always picks some unexpected superstars to shift brands. However, based on the present roster and their star-power, the above mentioned wrestlers will be the top picks. Meltzer also pointed out that some wrestlers should also stay protected from the Draft. They are Gunther and Austin Theory. WWE will want these young potential future main-eventers to stay on their respective brands to develop their storylines properly. Meltzer said, “They’d probably have Gunther and Austin Theory protected,”
What will be worth noticing is where the Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns ends up. Triple H is splitting his titles as he announced it this week on RAW. WWE Universe is curious what they will call Reigns by the end of the WWE Draft.
