The last two years have not been the best ones for the fan base of the Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL franchise. There was a time when this same franchise was making it to the playoffs of the Indian Premier League regularly, but last year, they took the wooden spoon home for the first time in their IPL history. Now, in IPL 2022, SRH have lost both of their opening fixtures.
It is not that the squad is weak, but SRH have not been using the talents they have to their full potential in IPL 2022. The Hyderabad-based franchise started their IPL season with a crushing defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals. Earlier tonight, they lost to the Lucknow Super Giants despite having the momentum on their side.
Commenting on his team’s defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants, SRH captain Kane Williamson told host broadcasters after the match:
“I suppose if we look at the performance, it was a lot better than the previous game. We were a lot better with the ball. We were in a pretty strong position. Rahul and Hooda had an excellent partnership. To get to 170 from where they were was a good effort. It was close but not close enough.”

Not just for the Sunrisers Hyderabad fans, but the disappointing show from the Orange Army has let the cricket fans down as well. Seeing the downfall of such a great franchise is not the best thing to witness, but the fans are hopeful that Kane Williamson and co. can make a comeback in the upcoming matches.
