INR 15 Cr is a big amount to spend in a Mega Auction. Especially for a player who has recently been capped and does not have much experience in IPL, it is a big risk. That said, Nitish is a special player and SRH could even retain him as a capped cricketer. However, if he arrives at the auctions, there is going to be a bidding war. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could be ready to spend close to INR 15 Cr if Nitish Reddy comes to auctions.
1) Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings could retain the least number of players before the auctions. With a heavy purse, they will have the advantage of being able to afford some big signings.
Balance was an issue for PBKS in the recent IPL seasons. If an Indian all-rounder is available, it helps the side. Of course, Nitish is a star material and that will also help Punjab in different ways.
2) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams which could be ready to spend close to INR 15 Cr if Nitish Reddy comes to auctions. No.4 is a tricky slot for LSG. Nicholas Pooran might be needed for the side at No.5. Hence, the team will have to scout a new No.4.
LSG will need a future star around whom the squad can be built in the future. There are not many available in this regard. Since he also plays spin well, LSG could be desperate for Nitish.
3) Gujarat Titans
Last season was tough for GT mainly because Hardik Pandya was missing. The best way to replace him and regain the balance is to sign a similar player.
In this regard, it will be a priority for GT to sign someone like Nitish. They could be willing to spend a hefty amount to get his services.
