Rahul Dravid has confirmed that Rohit Sharma will not be a part of the third ODI against Bangladesh. The Indian skipper will be in Mumbai and nurse his injury. With the Test series also starting soon, it may not be a surprise if Rohit is also ruled out for the five-day series. The management will then have to make the necessary changes to the XI. Here, we take a look at two players who might replace Rohit Sharma in the playing 11 if he misses the Test series against Bangladesh.

1) Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is a part of the squad but it was doubtful if he would make it to the XI. However, now that Rohit is likely to miss out, as the reserve opener, Gill will get his chance. He would open the batting alongside KL Rahul

The Punjab cricketer has been in good form in the ODIs. However, in Tests, he is yet to play a long innings, till now. He will have a good chance to do that against Bangladesh. If he can pull off a memorable knock, he will also make a strong case for his inclusion in the other formats based on his current form.

2) Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan is one of the players who might replace Rohit Sharma in the playing 11 if he misses the Test series against Bangladesh. The management might ask Sarfaraz Khan to join the Indian Team if Rohit Sharma is ruled out. The Mumbai cricketer is in exceptional touch and deserves the opportunity.

It could be hard for Sarfaraz to straightaway get a chance in the playing 11. However, if the management decides to play an extra batter, the cricketer will get his chance. Considering he has done all that is possible for him, Sarfaraz would want to consolidate his form by doing well for the Indian Team.
