“Can’t Keep A Good Man Down”- Twitter Reacts As Virat Kohli Scores His 1st 50 In 14 Matches

Virat Kohli returned to form in IPL 2022 with a half-century in the match between the Gujarat Titans and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first at the Brabourne Stadium. The Bangalore-based franchise lost the wicket of du Plessis early, but the duo of Kohli and Rajat Patidar ensured that the Royal Challengers got closer to a respectable total.

Both Patidar and Virat Kohli scored a fifty each for the Bangalore-based franchise. While Patidar recorded his maiden half-century in the Indian Premier League, Kohli scored his maiden fifty in 14 innings. It was a great sight for both RCB and Indian cricket fans because Kohli played some good shots in his innings.

The right-handed batter smashed six fours and a six in his innings, where he batted at a strike rate of 109. Eventually, he lost his stumps to Mohammed Shami while looking to accelerate in the final overs.

Pradeep Sangwan was the star for the Gujarat Titans. Playing his first match for the Titans, Sangwan picked up two big wickets – Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar. Speaking with host broadcasters after the first innings, Sangwan said:

“I enjoyed a lot. It was quite tough – I am playing a game (in the IPL) after 3-4 years. It’s not easy after an injury layoff but I’m happy with how it went. I wanted to use my variations but there was some help off the surface so I tried to use that.”
