“They will have to go to the auction next year” Brad Hogg points out specific areas for possible CSK’s target in IPL 2023 auction

Former Australian chinaman spinner, Brad Hogg opened up about an intense topic that has
been doing the rounds in Indian cricket. He took an attempt to decode the possible reason
Chennai would drop Ravindra Jadeja from the captaincy and go for MS Dhoni.

The return of Dhoni brought back Chennai to winning ways as Ruturaj Gaikwad would smash
an incredible 99 alongside Devon Conway’s fine opening partnership, propelling Chennai to
their third win of the season.

Here is what Brad Hogg had to say about CSK’s captaincy choices
Brad Hogg would analyze the move taken by Chennai and would bring to details that they will
have to go all guns go blazing in the following auction to get a decent captaincy option as
Jadeja is not at all prepared.

According to Brad Hogg, CSK won’t be looking at Ravindra Jadeja to retake the captaincy of
Chennai Super Kings in the following season, considering the mess that he found himself
and the team sinking in.
On his YouTube channel, he would quote, “It will be difficult to find an Indian to do the job is
going to be hard because all the best Indian T20 players have already been assigned to other
franchises.”

He would further quote, “Who is going to take over from MS Dhoni at the end of this year? I
can’t see a player on CSK’s team list that can captain this team effectively and efficiently.
They will have to go to the auction next year to find a player of captaining ability and try to
find an Indian to do the job is going to be hard because all the best Indian T20 players have
already been assigned to other franchises.”

He would conclude by saying that CSK will have to look for an international option given
Jadeja’s discomfort as the skipper of the side. Chennai will be going up against RCB for their
next assignment with Dhoni returning for the mantle.
