AJ Styles has etched his name in the annals of professional wrestling as an American powerhouse.
Debuting in 1998, Styles navigated through various independent promotions before making waves in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 2001. His career took off in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he established himself as a linchpin and won both the NWA and TNA World Heavyweight Championships on several occasions.
Styles showcased his versatility in Ring of Honor (ROH) as the inaugural ROH Pure Champion from 2002 to 2006. Internationally, he conquered New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) as a two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and the UK-based Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) as the RPW British Heavyweight Champion.
While initially appearing in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 2002, Styles declined a developmental contract, returning to WWE in 2016. His presence on the world stage is cemented by his victories in the WWE Championship and his reputation as the first winner of the belt outside of North America.
Styles’ remarkable career also included victories over the United States Championship, Intercontinental Championship, and Raw Tag Team Championship, which made him the first Grand Slam champion in both the WWE and TNA/Impact companies.
