“Surya Is Doing Great Things For India As A 360-Degree Player”- Kieron Pollard Praises Indian Batter

West Indies cricket team skipper Kieron Pollard has heaped praise on the Indian cricket team’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav after his magnificent performance in the 3-match T20I series between the two teams. Yadav won the Man of the Series award for his match-winning knocks in the series.

The right-handed batter ended the series in style with a 31-ball 65 against the Men in Maroon. Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat at number five when the team’s score was 66/3. Captain Rohit Sharma struggled to get going in the middle as he lost his wicket soon after scoring just seven runs off 15 deliveries.

All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav had the responsibility to finish off the innings well and guide the home side to a decent total. As mentioned ahead, Yadav scored 65 runs and he smashed just one four and seven sixes during his knock. He smacked shots all across the park and established himself as a 360 degree player like AB de Villiers.

Venkatesh Iyer supported him to perfection with a decent cameo of 35 runs. Both batters took the Indian cricket team’s score to 184/5 in 20 overs. In reply, the West Indies team managed 167/9 in their 20 overs and lost the game by 17 runs.

Kieron Pollard recalls how he shared the dressing room with Suryakumar Yadav back in 2011

Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav know each other very well because of their association with the Mumbai Indians franchise. Both were retained by the team ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Appreciating his Mumbai Indians teammate, Kieron said at the post-match press conference:

“Surya is a world-class player. I had the opportunity to play at Mumbai Indians with him since he first came in in 2011. Great to see he has grown a lot since then. He is doing great things for himself and India as a 360-degree player.”
