Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship titles are in jeopardy at WrestleMania 39. Many predict his challenger Cody Rhodes to finally end his 3-year reign of terror. But there’s a certain champion who thinks there is another contender who can dethrone the Tribal Chief.
In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Austin Theory, the current United States Champion, revealed another wrestler who can dethrone Reigns. He picked Jey Uso as a legitimate contender for the belts as well. In the interview, Theory said,
“Look at where Jey’s come from in the past let’s even say two years, the level that he’s on…I know they say there’s nobody that can take those titles from Roman, but it could be someone standing right next to him. That’s all I’m gonna say.” [8:20 – 8:41]
Jey Uso had in fact unsuccessfully challenged Roman for the titles twice in 2020. Once at Clash of Champions and then again at Hell in a Cell one after the other. Reigns beat Uso twice consecutively and Jey finally accepted Roman as his Tribal Chief. He then joined forced with the champion to form The Bloodline. There was Jey, his twin brother Jimmy and the wise man Paul Heyman in the faction at that time.
Will Jey Uso be The One who will beat Roman Reigns in WWE?
Jey Uso was a good soldier over the years, but the seeds of dissension were planted in him this year. When the Honorary Uce Sami Zayn picked his old friend Kevin Owens over Roman, The Bloodline gave him an epic beatdown.
Jey didn’t want anything to do with this and was gone for weeks. Sami even tried recruiting him against his cousins during this period. However, Jey Uso finally rejoined The Bloodline and kicked Zayn in the face. For now, he’s still with the faction but he has always been the black sheep.
For now, it looks like Jey and his brother Jimmy are facing Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39. Meanwhile Austin Theory will defend his US title against John Cena on the show of shows.
