“Sir Ravindra Jadeja!”, Twitter ecstatic as Jadeja returns to the BCCI Grade A+ Contract

The rumours had it in them that Ravindra Jadeja was all set to make his return against Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make the cut. The news arrived that probably he would need some more time in order to return to the Indian fold. Then the Kiwi series unfurled and once again, India felt short of the finish line to activate the weapon of Jadeja.

Come Australia, when India needed a very special performer to deliver the masterclass that he chimed in with and eventually they say, cometh the hour, cometh the man. Just when the Aussies threatened to take everything away from the Indians, it was Ravindra Jadeja who stood in their path and denied the touring Aussies the peace of mind. He was staunch in his approach and ensured that he is returning with his very best.

His return was marked with a knock of 70 with the bat and figures of 7 for 71 in the first Test against Australia. He then followed it up with another reckoning performance that saw him scoring 26 with the bat to stabilize an Indian ship and then registered figures of 10 for 110 in the second match, as India romped over Australia.

In the third Test where India faltered miserably against the mighty Aussies, Jadeja still managed to bag 4 wickets in the first innings against the visitors and he was not just looking great but wanted to create an impact. Finally, the last contest of the series saw him fizzle out slightly.

Despite failing to spark an impact in the last two ODIs, Jadeja did manage to be impressive both with the bat and the ball in the curtain-raiser and was one of the primary architects of India’s domination against Australia in the opener as he registered figures of 2 for 46 and scored 45 with the bat.

Here is what Twitter had to say about Ravindra Jadeja:

Due to his injury and long absence from international cricket, he saw a demotion in his annual contract but all it took him was just a month and BCCI knew exactly what to do as he was reintroduced into the A+ Grade in the BCCI contract. It is deemed as the highest bracket for any player and Twitter was quick to react to the same.
