Shimron Hetmyer Changes His Hair Color From Blue To Pink After Moving From DC To RR

Shimron Hetmyer is one of the top finishers in the T20 format of cricket at the moment. The Caribbean player has made a name for himself with his big-hitting in the shortest format of the game. Although he did a decent job for the Delhi Capitals last year, the Delhi-based franchise did not retain him for the 2022 edition of the IPL.

After being released by DC, Hetmyer received a contract from the Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Hetmyer entered the mega auction with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. RR were the first franchise to bid for him. DC joined the race to sign him soon after.

DC and RR were the only two franchises to show interest in Hetmyer’s services. The bidding war became intense, with RR eventually signing him for INR 8.5 crore. Last year, when Hetmyer turned up for the Delhi Capitals, he dyed his hair blue to match them with the color of the jersey.

Sometimes it’s a little bit tough in some of the pitches we play: Shimron Hetmyer

As mentioned ahead, Delhi Capitals played Shimron Hetmyer in the finisher’s role last year. When asked about how he has found his new role to adjust his game, Hetmyer had said:

“I’m enjoying it quite a lot actually. Sometimes it’s a little bit tough in some of the pitches we play and I’m trying to be more open to different challenges. It’s fun and I’m really enjoying it.”
