
IPL 2017, came along with a lot of promise, as the franchises came in with revamped squads, adding to the hopes of the fans for this to be one of the remembered editions of the Indian Premier League. Most Runs in IPL 2017:
David Warner again outperformed his peers, but this time made sure that he came out on top this time around and grab the top spot in the run getter’s list of IPL 2017. He scored 641 runs in the 14 matches that he played in and walked back home with the Orange Cap written off to his name. Following him was the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir with 498 runs in the 16 matches that he played in.
At number 3 in the leader board of this category was the opener of Warner’s team, Shikhar Dhawan, who managed to score 479 odd runs in the 14 matches that he batted in. With a 30 run gap between them, Steve Smith and Suresh Raina occupied the number 4 and 5 position with 472 and 442 runs to their names respectively.

Most Wickets in IPL 2017:
It was the Sunrisers domination here too, as the team’s ace pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again, just like his captain, managed to string together performances, earning him the top spot in the wicket taker’s list with him having 26 wickets in his account in 14 matches. Jayadev Unadkat of the Rising Pune Supergiant fell behind Bhuvi by a margin of 2 wickets and came in at number 2.
The to be the star of the Indian cricket team, Jasprit Bumrah showed the first glimpses of his talents, as he took 20 wickets and slotted in at the number 3 position. Mitchell McClenaghan, Bumrah’s teammate was placed below him, having sent 19 batters back to the pavilion and following him in the list was Imran Tahir who was closely competing with him with just one wicket short of Mitchell’s tally.

Here also, it was all set to be Orange all along, before Glenn Maxwell of Kings XI Punjab, who had hit 26 sixes inched ahead of David Warner, who had also hit the same number of sixes on the virtue of his superior strike rate, and Warner had to settle in for the second position.
Rishabh Pant of the Delhi based franchise also showed glimpses of his six-hitting prowess, chipping in at the 3rd spot with 24 sixes to his name in 14 games. Kieron Pollard and Robin Uthappa occupied the 4th and 5th position in the list, rounding it off with 22 and 21 sixes to their names respectively.

David Warner managed to occupy the pole position in yet another list, spilling the Orange hues on the list of the players with the most number of sixes in IPL 2017 too. Gautam Gambhir maintained close proximity with Warner here too, as he hit 61 boundaries in 16 games. Shikhar Dhawan made his presence felt here too, as he hit 53 deliveries to the boundary.
Parthiv Patel of the Rising Pune Supergiant was the player with the 4th most number of boundaries to his name in IPL 2017. The batsman hit 49 fours in 16 matches, helping his strike rate to rise to 134.81. Rahul Tripathi with 43 boundaries to his name from the 14 matches that he was a part of, rounded off the top 5.

Fastest Fifties in IPL 2017:
Sunil Narine, coming in with his newfound talent of smoking the bowlers to the boundary, hit the fastest fifty of IPL 2017, as he got to the landmark in just 15 balls in a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. His teammate, Chris Lynn, who was in fact known for his hitting abilities, was the second-fastest half-century scorer in IPL 2017, as he hit one against the Gujarat Lions in 19 balls.
David Warner was the next batter in the list, having smoked the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers for a 21 ball half-century. The Australian, white ball batting powerhouses, Chris Lynn was at number 4 with a 21 ball half-century and Aaron Finch was the batter with a 22 ball half-century and the 5th position in this list to his name.
