The 19-year-old has achieved a lot more than an athlete can imagine in his entire career. Saurabh took up shooting at 13 and practised daily, travelling 15 km each way on buses to his club run by Aryangateways Sports Foundation.

He was headhunted by his coach Amit Sheoran, who identified his talent and groomed him from the grassroots level. In 2018, Chaudhary became the youngest Indian shooter to win a gold medal at the Asian Games.

He is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Airgun Championship. Earlier, he claimed gold by breaking his world record, with a score of 245.5 in Junior Men 10m Air Pistol at the 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea.

In all, he has 14 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals in the duration he has represented India for the event. Of these, 8 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze have just come in World Cups.

He never settled for anything below Gold. With his determination and his dedication, he broke several records, bagged gold after gold at various competitions across the globe. A talented young boy created a mark of excellence while representing India in global competitions.

Saurabh Chaudhary Olympic Experiences

In the 2018 Youth Olympic Games at Buenos Aries, Saurabh earned the Gold medal in the 10m air pistol event. He clinched the score of 580, Final: 244.2 to achieve the remarkable medal.

Saurabh Chaudhary opened India’s account at the ISSF World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, with a bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol event. His score of 220 in the final after qualifying with a score of 581 came in real handy before they flew for the Tokyo Olympics.

The Indian sporting fraternity, Saurabh’s acquaintances, friends, family, experts, former players, all are strongly optimistic about Saurabh winning it and bringing it home at the Tokyo Olympics.
