After losing to Australia from a very dominating position in the opening match of their campaign in the Commonwealth games 2022, the Indian women’s team didn’t let it affect their morale at all, as they bounced back in the very next game and secured a thumping win over their arch-rivals Pakistan.
There seemed to be a complete mismatch between India and Pakistan as India, while bowling first after losing the toss, didn’t even let Pakistan cross the mark of 100 in a rain-curtailed 18-over game and then hunted the target down with 8 wickets and more than 30 deliveries in hand.
India will now face Barbados in their next and final group game and since Barbados has also beaten Pakistan and has lost to Australia in the ongoing Commonwealth games, this game between India and Barbados has now become a virtual quarter-final.

Pitch report for India Vs Barbados match in Commonwealth games 2022
Since all the cricket matches of the Commonwealth games are played at Edgbaston cricket ground, the surfaces are getting slower and slower and while the spinners are getting a bit of purchase, there might be a bit of variable bounce on offer too in this game between India and Barbados.
However, the good thing for India is that they have got a very balanced attack, as they have got a couple of swing and seam bowlers and a variety of spin options.
Weather conditions
There was a forecast of light rain and a breezy day for the India Vs Pakistan encounter and the forecast turned out to be absolutely right, as a few passing showers ahead of the game turned it into an 18-over fixture.
The forecast is slightly better for India Vs Barbados game. Although it might be cloudy to start the day in Birmingham tomorrow, the sun is expected to be out by the afternoon and it’s expected to be a full game. However, in case of a no result because of weather or other reasons, India will go through to the semis, as their Net Run Rate (NRR) is better than that of Barbados.
What India are doing is ensuring they win quickly so as to go ahead of Barbados in the net run rate.
AdvertisementIndia v Barbados will likely be the "knockout" that decides who goes through, but if that gain is washed out, India will want to be ahead in NRR before the start of the game
