Ryback Says WWE Wanted Bray Wyatt To Squash Him On RAW Episode

Bray Wyatt, popularly known as The Eater of Worlds, is remembered fondly and mysteriously in the annals of WWE history for his captivating 13-year run as the company’s star performer. However, in a recent YouTube video, Ryback, a former WWE superstar, recalled an occasion in which WWE’s upper management suggested that he face off against the beloved Bray Wyatt.

The incident happened on February 8, 2016, during a RAW edition, which is WWE’s premier programme. Bray Wyatt defeated Ryback in this legendary match by using his signature Sister Abigail finisher. The Wyatt Family, which consists of Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan, and Luke Harper, resumed their assault on the powerful Big Guy at ringside after the bout.

Ryback, on his channel Ryback TV, candidly revealed that WWE management initially intended to penalize him on national television by having Bray Wyatt swiftly overpower and squash him in under a minute. Such a proposal was met with immediate resistance, as both Bray and Ryback recognized the implications and repercussions.

Ryback said that he and Bray Wyatt had been set for a singles b attle, but the time allotted for the match was significantly cut during the day. As a result, neither contender was willing to accept the idea for a quick and lopsided match. Having a thorough knowledge of the predicament, they all agreed to express their worries to WWE’s top brass.

What happened between Ryback and Bray Wyatt in WWE?

On the day of the event, Ryback bravely expressed his concerns to influential people like Triple H and Vince McMahon, expressing his uncertainty about the conclusion as originally intended. Fortunately, their approach was favourably appreciated, and the game ended up lasting six minutes and 51 seconds—a far more fair and pleasant outcome.

Notably, during this period, Ryback and Bray Wyatt had harbored aspirations for their feud to culminate inside the confines of a steel cage. However, despite their enthusiasm for this concept, the idea was unexpectedly discarded in favor of a conventional match format. They had wished to leverage the symbolic steel cage as a backdrop for their narrative and storytelling, an opportunity that was regrettably lost.

Since they had both participated in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), the WWE’s developmental programme, their friendship had remained cordial behind the scenes.

Tragically, after Windham Rotunda, better known to fans as Bray Wyatt, unexpectedly passed away on August 24 from a heart attack, the wrestling community lamented his loss. Worldwide wrestling fans continue to honour and remember his everlasting contributions to the sport.
