It was during the final moments of the summit clash of the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup, played between the West Indies cricket team and the England cricket team.
The match went down to the final over. The West Indies cricket team needed multiple big hits to win the match, and all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite was in the middle. England cricket team captain Eoin Morgan decided to give the final over to their pace-bowling all-rounder Ben Stokes. While Morgan expected Stokes to defend the target, he conceded four consecutive sixes, and the match was over with two balls to spare.

Two days before the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 Final, Ian Bishop had a chat with a gentleman, and during that chat, he told him about Carlos Brathwaite. In the conversation, Bishop asked that men to remember Carlos Brathwaite’s name. Here’s what Bishop said about that conversation:
“I went to a function hosted by a friend of mine two days before the final,” Bishop told. “And one of the questions posed was which players we should look forward to watching in the final, beyond the obvious guys like Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo. Carlos Brathwaite came to my mind because in that World Cup he’d been bowling well and he could smack the ball. I said to the guy: ‘Carlos Brathwaite is a good all-round cricketer, remember that name.”
West Indies have struggled in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 so far
The West Indies team won the previous edition of the ICC T20 World Cup. However, they have struggled in the ongoing mega event, recording two defeats in two matches. They even failed to get going in the warm-up matches of the tournament.
Carlos Brathwaite, who was the hero of the previous T20 World Cup final, is now in the commentary box. The selectors did not pick him in the T20 World Cup 2021 squad.
