RCB Set To Wear Blue Jerseys Against KKR To Pay Tribute To Covid Warrirors

RCB will resume their second phase of the IPL against KKR

RCB resumes their campaign with a surprise: The UAE phase of IPL 2021 is almost upon us, as the tournament is just less than five days away. After a long wait, the domestic extravaganza will resume with a blockbuster clash between defending champions, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

The opening day of the clash will be followed by another intense thriller as Royal Challengers Bangalore will be locking horns against Kolkata Knight Riders on the 20th of September. This will be a tale of two contrasting sides as Bangalore has been firmly cemented in the upper half of the points’ table while Kolkata is rooted in the penultimate position of the table.

Here is the reason why RCB will be wearing their blue jerseys

Just ahead of the clash, Royal Challengers Bangalore has confirmed in a tweet that they will be donning blue jerseys, and this is to support the Covid warriors who have been fighting relentlessly in the middle of a raging pandemic.

Their official Twitter handle read, “RCB to wear Blue Jersey v KKR on 20th We at RCB are honoured to sport the Blue kit, that resembles the colour of the PPE kits of the frontline warriors, to pay tribute to their invaluable service while leading the fight against the Covid pandemic.”

Bangalore’s new outlook for the remainder of IPL 2021

Bangalore hired a few reinforcements as four of their players had to leave due to various reasons. They will be raring to continue their blistering form as the tournament resumes with their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders.

They finished the first phase of the tournament with a defeat against Punjab Kings as Rahul, Gayle and Harpreet Brar aided in the Red army achieving a decent 179. Bangalore came an early cropper as Riley Meredith fired a warning shot by removing Padikkal early. However, a stand between Kohli and Patidar saw Bangalore stitch a stiff resistance. That is when Harpreet Brar pulled off the performance of his life to claim Kohli, De Villiers and Maxwell to leave the Challengers reeling.
