It is before a mega-event that most teams take the opportunity to reveal new kits for the team. The kit sponsors see these tournaments as the major source for penetrating their products into the market. A number of factors play a role in designing the jersey. While each nation is associated with one colour, the kit makers should also consider the aesthetics, modern design and if possible, a message also through the jersey. Most teams have released new jerseys ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Here, we rank the jerseys of six teams in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
6) Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka released a new jersey recently at a big event. However, some fans were not impressed with the design. It appeared too similar to the previous jerseys. However, the ‘lion’ watermark on the jersey’s left did make an impact.
Having won the Asia Cup 2022, Sri Lanka will be extremely confident in the T20 WC. They first have to enter the Super 12 stages and after that, they would target beating some top sides. This will help them as they progress towards becoming a powerhouse again.
5) Australia

Australia usually experiments a lot with its jerseys. Like the last edition, this time too, the defending champions have gone for an indigenous kit. However, this concept seems too forced and from a few angles, the kit appears unconvincing.
While the kit may not have exactly hit the bull’s eye, the performances are more than likely to make up for it. The Aussies have a balanced unit with not too many injury issues. They will be one of the firm favourites to lift the trophy and defend the title.
4) England

England usually opts for cool designs and for the upcoming event, too, they have a solid jersey on their hands. Especially when they play in England, the kit looks brilliant. A bit more of dark blue would have been great on the top but there are no major complaints.
England has a few injury issues but they are working towards negating them with good replacements. They defeated Pakistan recently at home and this will help their confidence a lot.
3) Pakistan

Pakistan surprised many with their kit for the T20 World Cup. There is a greenish-blue tinge to the overall appearance but there is more style integrated into the design this time around. It won’t be a surprise if this jersey looks the best in Australia under lights.
Apart from the issues in the middle order, Pakistan is pretty much covered for the T20 WC. Their focus will be on consistency and an improved contribution from the middle order.
2) India
To every cricket fan out there, this one’s for you.

As usual, the Indian kit was marketed aggressively. To the liking of many fans, the makers have reverted back to a sky blue tinge. There is also dark blue on the sleeves while the design on the left of the jersey is also impressive.
India will be one of the favourites but the absence of Jasprit Bumrah will hurt the team. The men in blue will want the batting unit to step up to cover up for the loopholes in the bowling.
1) New Zealand

When it comes to the jerseys for the 2022 T20 World Cup, New Zealand seems to have got the best kit. The Kiwis have splashed in a bit of nostalgia as they have opted for a grey hue in their trademark black jersey. Even the training kit of New Zealand looks very impressive.
New Zealand is also one of the favourites for the trophy. The team reached the finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup. They have got a balanced squad and will look to go one step further in the upcoming event.
