QAT vs USA: The Q2 Stadium in Texas will host the first semi-final between Qatar and the USA.
After bagging two wins out of three group stage games, Qatar played El Salvador in a thrilling quarterfinal game at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Almoez Ali‘s Brace and Abdulaziz Hatem’s astonishing eight-minute scorcher had kept Qatar up and running for the Semi-Final berth.
However, a magnificent response by Joaquín Rivas, who scored two back-to-back goals in three minutes, had kept El Salvador in the hunt. However, despite the gallantry effort, Qatar progressed through to the Semi-Finals.
On the other hand, after a 100% winning record in group stage matches, the USA played Jamaica in the quarter-finals. The AT&T Stadium witnessed no goals in the first half while the match was closing into a stalemate. However, fate had other plans for the USA as Matthew Hoppe scored a brilliant goal in the 83rd minute to help his side reach one step closer to the trophy.
It will be a huge battle as two giants face each other at the biggest of stages.
