WWE announced the start of SmackDown World Cup last week. The tournament began on the November 11 edition of the blue brand. WWE SmackDown star Mustafa Ali has sent out a message hyping his participation in the World Cup.
Mustafa Ali has been known as one of the most gifted highflyers in the WWE. He has performing for the company in mid-card storylines for the majority of his career. His most notable work came back in 2020, as the leader of Retribution.
The faction looked to be game changer for Ali’s career. However, the stable dissolved after a failed stint and Ali was lost in the shuffle. Moreover, Ali has expressed his unhappiness in the company at various occasions. He has even asked for his WWE release back when Vince McMahon was in charge.
Furthermore, things are looking to be different for Ali in the Triple H era. Mustafa Ali has been featured more often than before in engaging storylines. In addition, the 450-splash expert had been added to be part of the upcoming SmackDown World Cup tournament.

The first round saw Shinsuke Nakamura being defeated by Santos Escobar, and Braun Strowman power bombing Jinder Mahal for the win. The winner is slated to receive a WWE Intercontinental Championship against Gunther.
This can be seen as extension of the Men’s soccer World Cup starting this month. Other competitors were also announced for the tournament, representing different countries (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Japan, U.K and others).
Moreover, Mustafa Ali is slated to also compete in the World Cup, with his opponent to be announced. He took to Twitter to express his feelings regarding being a part of the SmackDown World Cup. Therefore, fans went berserk to react to Ali’s tweet of this seemingly proud moment for his career:
So basically are u indian or Pakistani? Clear that first.
