“Sometimes, emotions do overflow”, Shane Warne on Virat Kohli’s reaction on controversial DRS

Indian Test-Captain Virat Kohli was left fuming after a controversial Hawk-Eye prediction. Australian Legend Shane Warne asserted that the ball was hitting, and wouldn’t have gone over the stumps. Virat Kohli’s reaction has caught the eyes of fans and pundits all over the world.

Stump Mics have been the source of constant entertainment for the fans for a long time now. Wicketkeepers and slip-fielders often sledge the opposition, which is exciting for the fans to hear.

However, in the recently-concluded Test series between South Africa and India, the stump mic caught Virat Kohli and Co. venting out their frustration. An unusual bounce on a hawk-eye prediction gave an undeserved second chance to South-Africa captain Dean Elgar. This happened on the third day of the final test match in Cape Town.

The Hawk-eye decision left Ravichandran Ashwin, Mayank Agarwal, and Virat Kohli expressing their agony through the stump mic. The players blamed the official broadcaster of the series – SuperSport – for the havoc caused.

Experts and Pundits felt agitated by the action of Indian Players. The Australian-duo of Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist have most recently expressed their views on this scenario.

Former Australian Wicket-Keeper Adam Gilchrist expressed that Virat Kohli’s reaction was “brewing”. He added that the anger had got to the breaking point, which led to Virat Kohli’s “premeditated” reaction.

“That accusation about filming teams shining the ball, I am assuming it goes back to when the Australians were caught out on camera,” said Gilly.

Warne backed Virat Kohli’s reaction and said, sometimes the emotions do ‘overflow’. Although, Warne was bewildered that such a reaction had come from Kohli. However, Warne justified that Kohli’s reaction could have been the result of all controversial decisions against the Indian team throughout the whole test series.
