England women’s cricket team player Alexandra Hartley is a huge fan of the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL franchise. She has often tweeted about the way she supports the Bangalore-based team in the Indian Premier League. Earlier this year, RCB surprisingly released their match-winner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Over the last few seasons, Chahal had been the number one bowler of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. The opposition batters found it difficult to score runs against RCB when Chahal was bowling. He was their top wicket-taker. However, it seems the RCB team management lost faith in him.
The Bangalore-based franchise did not even bid aggressively for him at the IPL 2022 Auction. The Rajasthan Royals bagged his services for a price of INR 6.5 crore at the mega auction. And now, Chahal is the Purple Cap owner in IPL 2022.
Last night during the match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders, Chahal made history by becoming the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the IPL. He finished with a five-wicket haul and won the Man of the Match award.
Reacting to his stupendous performance, England women’s team star Alexandra Hartley wrote on Twitter:
Well bowled @yuzi_chahal πππ½ππ½ππ½ #IPL2022 #KKRvsRR

Alexandra Hartley stepped down as the captain of Thunder team recently
While Hartley is enjoying the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, she recently made a big decision in her cricketing career. One of her recent tweets suggests that she has stepped down as the captain of the Thunder team in domestic cricket.
“Itβs been an absolute privilege to captain @NW_Thunder + @lancscricket over the past few seasons but now itβs the right time for me to take a step back and help this team grow in other ways. Looking forward to the season ahead,” wrote Hartley.Β
