Wrestling fans are known to voice their opinion on every relevant topic prevailing in the industry. However, there is a huge section of detractors who like to get under the skin of WWE superstars with derogatory comments on social media. Recently Scottish star, Piper Niven faced a similar situation.
In a huge revelation on X, Piper Niven shared that she lives with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). Furthermore, she expressed commitment to raising awareness about the condition citing the occasion of both Pride Month and PTSD/CPTSD Awareness Month.
For the unversed, CPTSD is a mental health condition resulting from prolonged, repeated trauma, often stemming from bad childhood experiences.
What did a fan say to Piper Niven regarding her condition?
While Piper Niven attempted to create awareness in a noble act, a fan on social media tried to make fun of her weight. “stress eating must be a symptom clearly.”
This led to Niven firing back at the fan who clearly had no knowledge about the people suffering from the condition. “Ah I knew it wouldn’t be long before someone just had to get a dig in and yes it is actually! I didn’t intend to get to this part of the symptoms of PTSD and CPTSD so soon but seeing as you are an eager beaver, let’s get into it!”
Moreover, she even decided to educate the fan about her condition, possibly to make them think differently next time before attacking someone online. “@YaBoy669 people with PTSD or CPTSD often have weight management issues and there are several reasons for this. Our nervous systems are in a constant state of dis regulation and we are often stuck in our Fight/Flight response which switches us to our sympathetic nervous system.”

While Piper Niven continues to advocate for people like her suffering from CPTSD, she also looks ahead to a huge opportunity. She is slated to compete for the WWE Women’s champion at WWE Clash at the Castle in two weeks, taking place in her home country of Scotland with one of the biggest chances in her young career to rise above all and clinch the top prize in the women’s division in SmackDown.
