Rishabh Pant has been the best in the business for India as far as the Test format is concerned. The talented wicketkeeper-batsman has played more impactful innings for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket ever since he made his debut.
He has helped the team win games with ‘bazball approach’ as India largely benefitted from his fearless brand of cricket. Rishabh Pant scored 2271 runs in Test cricket at an average of 43.7 including 5 tons and 11 fifties.
On the other hand, he is yet to produce a spark in the ODI and the T20I format. Having played 30 ODIs, he scored 865 runs at an average of 34.6 including 1 century and five fifties to his name.
He has played 66 T20Is in his career wherein he scored 987 runs at an average of 22.4 including three half-centuries. Having played across formats in international cricket, he is best known for his sheer consistency to score runs in Test cricket.
Rishabh Pant might take up to 2 years to return to the Indian team: Sourav Ganguly
Not long ago, Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket Operations, Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the entire edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season.
Rishabh Pant met with a career-threatening accident on December 30, 2022, on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. After suffering some horrific injuries, he was ruled out of competitive cricketing action for a long time now.
Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly, while speaking to the news agency, PTI, added that Rishabh Pant might take up to two years to return to the Indian cricket team.
Ganguly’s statement shocked the fans of the Indian cricket fraternity. It means that Pant might not play in the ICC World Test Championship final and the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. If Rishabh Pant’s return is delayed, then he might as well miss the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Why an year or two? These timelines should come from official BCCI or the medical team attending to Rishabh.
Two years or one will be a long time to recuperate and practise to reach the post accident levels.

What a waste! He should've been playing bgt had he not crashed his car. I remember once he posted a pic on insta few years back showing off the speed at which he was running his new car. Why don't talented people value their talent? Wasted 2 years of his prime.
