Well, talking about the finest walking amongst us, especially when it comes to the tennis court, the name of Novak Djokovic is absolutely inseparable. The 35-year-old Serbian brings forth a tradition of chipping away the grass court, instilled with a belief that it brings him good luck.

The towering stature in the Tennis courts doesn’t hold back in celebrating wins and his signature style on the greens is by savouring the fragments of the structure that he is gracing with his presence. In fact, there is an interview in 2015 where he quoted that the ryegrass which was used at the All England Club tasted delicious.

Eating grass isn’t his only celebration style. The erstwhile number one also raises his arms to each side of the stadium that eggs on the audience to encourage the big Serb in return. Well, this is not the typical celebration that makes Joker stand out but then the name is big enough to capture attention.

Djokovic was asked about his usual celebrations of eating grass and the Serb had an answer for the same with a praising note for the groundskeepers who perform a phenomenal job of maintaining the courts.

Talking to BBC’s Sue Barker, he quoted, “It’s a little tradition obviously. As a kid I was dreaming of winning Wimbledon, so, like every child, you dream of doing something crazy when you actually achieve it — if you achieve it — and that was one of the things.”

Djoker is currently ranked 6th in ATP with 4.770 points to uphold his position in the pecking order. 2022 has already seen him lifting the Wimbledon and the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. He triumphed over Nick Kyrgios in the grand finale of the Wimbledon to lift the hallowed silverware, equalling Pete Sampras’ tally of singles trophies at the England Lawn Tennis Club.
