With the event happening at home, as expected, fans would throng the stadiums whenever the hosts are in action. While it will be pressure for the players to perform, they can also use the support positively to make an impact on the field. England and New Zealand will be the primary contenders along with Australia for the semi-final spots in this group. There would also be teams such as Afghanistan who will challenge this.

Compared to most teams, Australia has a settled and experienced squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Aaron Finch and David Warner will open the innings while Mitchell Marsh will continue to play at No.3. Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will form the core of the middle-order while one of Steve Smith or Tim David will also be a part of the XI. Matthew Wade will be the wicketkeeper and will play in the lower middle-order.
The bowling has the trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins in the pace department while Adam Zampa would come in as the spinner. Overall, it’s a strong team and with them playing at home, we can expect them to defend the crown at home.
