Rajasthan Royals have suddenly dropped form. The IPL 2022 finalists need a spark and some changes in their tactics to make a return. Their next game will be against Hyderabad. SRH is also struggling and RR must target to win this encounter. On that note, here, we take a look at one bold decision Rajasthan Royals must take for their next game against SRH.
Rajasthan Royals must have Jos Buttler at No.4 against SRH
Having started with three fifties in his first four games, Buttler has not hit the milestone since then. Incidentally, RR is also not performing well with Buttler losing his form. He is also taking up a few balls before losing his wicket, which is denying Devdutt Padikkal to get some chances in the powerplay. This is again RR’s mistake but that is how their team is set up.
Nevertheless, with Yashasvi Jaiswal anyways going guns in the powerplay, it won’t be a bad idea to use Buttler at No.4. RR is struggling in the middle order and the trio of Samson-Buttler-Hetmyer in the middle can solve it. It would be a bold call if Kumar Sangakkara and co. do it.
It is time for RR management to make some changes
RR management has been slightly stubborn when it comes to making use of the resources. It is probably one team that is not even trying hard to make full use of the ‘Imapct Player’ rule. Hence, a few changes have to be done in this regard.
Jos Buttler is an important player and RR must try all to get him back to form. It is also necessary that Devdutt Padikkal either opens the batting or is out of the XI. The fourth overseas player is also a problem for RR. While Obed McCoy is an option, Joe Root is also not a bad idea for the franchise.
