Smriti Mandhana guides India to victory against Australia in the second T20I
The second T20I between in DY Patil saw a boisterous crowd and it certainly help Indian women to produce a magnificent effort to level the series. After they conceded 187 runs in 20 overs, not many expected them to win the game.
But it was a staggering effort from their end. Smriti Mandhana lead the charge for her side and smashed a masterful 79 runs to help the side to be on top. She stitched a crucial 76-run partnership with Shafali Varma, who scored 34 runs, to set the tone for her side.
A brutal finish by Richa Gosh (26*), in the end, saw the scores getting levelled and the match going into a super over. Mandhana yet again stepped up for her side as she scored 13 runs in the over that helped her side post 20 runs on the board, which the opposition failed to chase.
With this fifty, Mandhana completed her 19th half-century in WT20Is. Notably, she also has the most fifties for India while chasing in T20I for Women.
