“No Other Player Has Done It More Than Once”- A Twitter User Shares Interesting Record Set By MS Dhoni In IPL Against MI

The 33rd match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League happened yesterday night at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where the Chennai Super Kings beat the Mumbai Indians by three wickets. MS Dhoni was the hero for CSK as he smashed 16 runs off the last four deliveries to guide his team home, and in the process, he created a new record.

When Rohit Sharma gave the ball to Jaydev Unadkat to bowl the last over of the match, the Chennai Super Kings needed 17 runs off six balls. Unadkat dismissed Dwaine Pretorius LBW on the first ball, and on the second delivery, Dwayne Bravo took a single to give Dhoni the strike.

MS Dhoni then whacked 6, 4, 2, 4 off the last four balls as the Chennai Super Kings completed a close win against the Mumbai Indians. The wicket-keeper batter finished things off in style once again for his team.

MS Dhoni – the finisher created a new record by chasing more than 15 runs thrice

Talking about the record that MS Dhoni has set, he has now chased down more than 15 runs in the last over thrice in his IPL career. He accomplished that feat for the first time in 2010 against the Punjab Kings.

Six years later, while playing for Rising Pune Supergiant, Dhoni scored 22 runs off Axar Patel’s bowling in the last over of the match against the Punjab Kings. The most recent instance happened last night when Dhoni scored 16 runs off the last four balls to help CSK defeat MI in an IPL 2022 match.

“This is the 3rd time MS Dhoni scores more than 15 runs in the last over to win an IPL chase. No other player did it more than once,” a Twitter user wrote while sharing the interesting record that MS Dhoni has created in the Indian Premier League.
