The wait for Virat Kohli’s ODI ton finally ended as he played a staggering inning in the third ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram. He came to bat when India lost Shikhar Dhawan early for just 3 runs. He look a tad out of touch initially.

But he surpassed that phase by playing as second fiddle to Ishan Kishan, who scored 210 runs. Once he was set, he looked beautiful to the eyes as he played gorgeous drives all over the park and oozed out  his class.

He first smashed his fifty but after that, he looked a completely different batter as he smashed his 72nd international ton. He achieved the feat with a six and put his team in a comfortable position. Notably, this was his first ton in ODIs since August 2019.

With this century, he surpassed Ricky Ponting to score the most centuries in international as well as ODI cricket. He’s only behind great Sachin Tendulkar in terms of centuries and it’s a no-brainer that he can surpass batting great as well.

Kohli smashed incredible 113 runs in 91 balls and helped his side go past 350 runs. He smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes in his innings and batted with a strike rate of 124.18.
