WWE NXT Battleground 2023 match card has been officially confirmed. The show will take place this Sunday at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachussets. This is the first time WWE is presenting a Battleground premium live event since the year 2017.
The last time Battleground took place, it was a SmackDown LIVE exclusive show. Jinder Mahal defended his WWE Championship in a Punjabi Prison Match against Randy Orton on that show. This year’s main event is a NXT Championship match between the champion Carmelo Hayes and the challenger Bron Breakker.

Apart from that, NXT has planned five other matches for the show. The only non-title match on the WWE NXT Battleground 2023 card is a Last Man Standing match between Ilja Dragunov and Dijak. The NXT Women’s Championship, NXT North American Championship, NXT Tag Team Championship and Heritage Cup matches will happen on the card. Here is the complete list.

- Noam Dar (c) vs. Dragon Lee, British Round Rules Match for the NXT Heritage Cup.
- Wes Lee (c) vs. Tyler Bate vs. Joe Gacy, WWE NXT North American Championship.
- Ilja Dragunov vs. Dijak, Last Man Standing match.
- Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) vs. The Creed Brothers (Brutus Creed and Julius Creed), WWE NXT Tag Team Championship.

This event will go head-to-head with rival promotion All Elite Wrestling’s pay-per-view AEW Double or Nothing 2023. It will be interesting to see which promotion produces the best show this Sunday. Not to forget WWE Night of Champions will happen on Saturday in Saudi Arabia.
