2 Changes India might make for the final T20I against Sri Lanka

The last game of the series is slated to take place on Saturday (7th January) in Rajkot. The second game was forgettable for India both with the bat as well as the ball. Heading into the last game, there will be a lot of areas of concern for them. With the third game just a day away, let’s take a look at 2 Changes that India might make for the final T20I against Sri Lanka.

Ruturaj Gaikwad in place of Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill was handed a debut in the first game but in the two games, he hasn’t done justice to his place in the team. The right-hander has struggled to get going in the first two games and has managed just 12 runs in the two games. With series on the line, his place could be well under threat, especially with Gaikwad on the bench. The Maharashtra opener has been performing well in the domestic circuit and it’s fair to say that team can’t keep him out for long. Therefore it is expected that he’ll replace Gill in the second game.

Washington Sundar in place of Yuzvendra Chahal

When Washington Sundar was benched in the first game, a few eyebrows were raised. But he could be in contention for the third game. With his ability to bat, he can pose a threat to Yuzvendra Chahal, has been consistently failing to take wickets and is leaking runs at a fair rate. India lacked batting depth in the second game and with Sundar in the mix, it’ll be a confidence booster for India. Chahal conceded 26 runs in just 2 overs in the first game and returned with the figures of 1/30 in the second game as the opposition targeted him. Sundar on the other hand has performed staggering well when given the opportunity and therefore could be in line for the third game.
