Miro has grabbed the headlines after Dave Meltzer reported that the AEW Superstar turned down a creative idea from the team to lose at AEW Full Gear. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that Miro has recovered from his injury, but he has been kept off TV because the creative team does not have any storylines for him.
Dave Meltzer mentioned that the creative did have some plans for the AEW Superstar. However, he turned down the offer, which has prompted the top decisionmakers to keep him off TV for a while now. It is unclear whether he is unhappy with his position or not, but the AEW Superstar has reportedly signed a contract extension which keeps him in the Tony Khan-owned promotion until 2026.
On the other side, one more interesting story which has emerged is Lana’s interview. She is the real-life wife of Miro, and in a recent interview, Lana said that everyone wants to end up in WWE one day. Dave Meltzer reported that if the wife one of a wrestler feels like that, then why someone like Tony Khan should waste his time building him up as a top guy.
In case you did not know, Miro initially worked for WWE. He was known as Rusev in that company, and for a long time, he was among the top Superstars on WWE TV. He had some memorable feuds with the likes of Roman Reigns, John Cena, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Lashley.
Rusev also got an opportunity to share the screen with legends like The Rock, Vince McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon during his time with the company. WWE let him go due to the budget cuts.
Fans on Twitter have mixed reactions to Miro turning down AEW’s storyline
Here are some of the top Twitter reactions to the backstage report of Miro turning down AEW’s storyline idea for him at Full Gear:
“Khan came to Miro & he had this idea which would build to a match on the November PPV — & he didn’t wanna do it — Some people it’s weird, a lot of people that come from WWE are very leery, obviously Bryan Danielson being the exception, about doing Jobs”

Who right? SRS stated AEW didn't have nothing for Miro to do while Dave stated they did and he rejected it.

That’s why he hasn’t had any tv time. You turn down work. That’s what happens.

🥲☺️SRS specifically contacted me to say he knew Miro turned down the creative plan so we both ended up with the same story.

What’s the difference of Miro saying no and Sasha walking out? Both results of bad creative. Yet AEW fans praising Sasha and hating WWE now bashing Miro??Advertisement

Why should he be jobbing? He’s one of the more polished guys there.Advertisement
