Watch: Mohammed Shami Cleans Up Cheteshwar Pujara For A Duck; Hugs Him During Celebration

The first tour match of the Indian cricket team’s tour of England is currently underway, where Rohit Sharma’s Indian side is up against the Leicestershire Foxes. Four players of the Indian squad, namely Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna are playing for Leicestershire in this game.

The tour game got underway yesterday with the Indian cricket team winning the toss and opting to bat first. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a decent start to the visitors, but Roman Walker’s five-wicket haul gave Leicestershire an upper hand.

Wicket-keeper batter KS Bharat fought back for the Indians with a half-century as the Indian cricket team declared their first innings at 246/8. India started Day 2 with the ball and Mohammed Shami has already picked up two wickets for the visiting team.

He broke the opening stand by dismissing opposition captain Sam Evans for just one run. Evans nicked a ball from Shami, and the ball went straight to Virat Kohli who was standing in the slips. Cheteshwar Pujara, who was impressive in county cricket, came out to bat next.

However, he lost his stumps before he could open his account. Since they are teammates for the upcoming match, Shami went on to hug Pujara after the dismissal. You can watch the video here:

I had a wonderful time with Sussex: Cheteshwar Pujara

During a chat with BCCI before the tour match against Leicestershire, Cheteshwar Pujara shared his experience of playing for Sussex. Here’s what he had to say:

“I had a wonderful time with Sussex, the guys were really good, I loved roaming around Brighton. Look, it was about playing as many first class games as possible and for me, that experience was very important. Once I had my first big knock against Derby, I felt my rhythm was back.”
