Venue still uncertain for 4th and 5th game of India Vs West Indies T20I series, some Indian players yet to get USA visas

The 4th and the 5th game of India Vs West Indies T20I series had to be played in Florida, USA as per the original schedule

While the second and the third match of the India Vs West Indies T20I series will take place in St Kitts on the 1st and 2nd of August, it’s still not certain where the 4th and the 5th match of the series will take place.

Those two games were originally scheduled to take place in the USA on the 6th and 7th of August, but it has been reported by Cricbuzz that some of the members of the Indian cricket team and even some of the West Indies players have not got their USA visas yet, because of which Windies Cricket Board now has to think about plan B.

Plan B would obviously be to organize the matches in one of the venues of the Caribbean itself, but organizing the matches in the USA was very important for all parties concerned. The USA has been identified as one of the areas where there is a big scope for the growth of cricket because of the strong presence of the Asian diaspora.

The officials of Windies Cricket have still not given up on organizing the matches in the USA and are working round the clock to ensure that the visa issues are resolved, but they don’t have time on their hands as the tour dates can’t be extended any further because of the tight schedule of the Indian cricket team.

Zimbabwe tour and Asia Cup are scheduled back to back after the India Vs West Indies T20I series

After the India Vs West Indies T20I series, there is an India Vs Zimbabwe ODI series to be held in just about 10 days’ time and a second-string Indian team has been announced already for the Zimbabwe tour because India’s strongest squad has to take part in the Asia Cup which is starting in UAE from 27th of August.

The final decision on the venues for the 4th and the 5th game of the India Vs West Indies T20I series will be made within a day or two. It should be clear after the third T20I whether the Indian and the West Indies players will remain in the Caribbean for the last two games or travel to the USA.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
