Twitterati slams KL Rahul for his comments on David Warner’s injury

Indian white-ball vice-captain KL Rahul‘s comments about Australian opener David Warner‘s injury have not gone down well with the fans as they are questioning his sportsman spirit. Warner had injured himself while fielding in the second ODI and has been ruled out of the remainder of the limited-overs leg against India.

When KL Rahul was asked about Warner’s injury, he said on a lighter note that it would be great for the Indian team if he does not return back to full fitness for a long time. Although this was said in a humorous way, it was not gleefully accepted by the Indian fans and KL Rahul had to face the heat.

“We don’t know how bad his injury is. It would be nicer if he gets injured for a long time. One of their main batsmen. It is not nice to wish it for anyone but it would be good for the team. If his injury takes a long time, it would be good for our team,” Rahul had said in the virtual presser.

Indian fans took a dig at KL Rahul on Twitter

Kl Rahul’s comment about Warner was certainly not in the right spirit of the game according to many Indian fans. Here is how they expressed their disappointment on Twitter:

With his two impressive knocks of 69 and 83 in the first two ODIs against India, Warner has shown that he is in fine form. The Indian bowlers really struggled and had no clue how to break Warner’s successful opening stand with Finch. Warner’s unavailability for the third ODI as well as the three-match T20I series has opened doors for India to make a comeback in the limited-overs leg.

As far as the longest format of the game is concerned, the Australian team will be hoping that he gets fully fit ahead of the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy which begins from December 17
