It was an easy win for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023. While the bowlers did the job in the first innings, the batters did not have to break a sweat in the second inning. CSK beat Mumbai Indians in the El Clasico
Mumbai Indians actually started the game well. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan provided a good start but they were not able to kick on. Barring cameos by Tilak Verma and Tim David, none of the other batters stepped up. The CSK spinners, especially the duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner, were in excellent touch as they never let MI out of the hole. Eventually, Mumbai ended with just 157 runs in the first inning.
It was Ajinkya Rahane who came out as the biggest surprise of the game. Playing for CSK, he scored 61 runs in 27 balls to make the chase easy for CSK after they lost the wicket of Devon Conway early. Of course, Ruturaj Gaikwad also held his wicket and that eased the pressure for CSK. The Mumbai bowlers were clueless as they were taken around the park by Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane’s form will be a massive boost for CSK in this campaign, going forward.

There were a lot of expectations from the game between CSK and MI. However, it turned out to be a one-sided encounter as CSK handed a tough loss to MI. Having tasted this loss, it would be hard for Mumbai to make a comeback, because they would be morally down. The fitness of Jofra Archer will also keep them on their feet.
