LSG will be one of the favourites to lift the trophy
LSG had a good outing in its debut campaign. They came close to defeating RCB in the Eliminator but a slip in the final few overs meant they had to exit the tournament. However, they have the core of the squad intact and would look to do better in IPL 2023.
LSG will be yet again led by KL Rahul. The player has been having a tough time and is even close to losing his spot in the T20I Team after getting dropped from the Test squad. India has also now identified Hardik Pandya as the next skipper in T20Is. In both these matters, KL Rahul has to have a solid IPL 2023 in order to come back into the frame.
On the other hand, the team does have a few issues but since they have a good balance, LSG will be expected to do well. The availability of a fit Mark Wood will be vital while the form of Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan will also be important for the squad to do well. It will be interesting to see how Nicholas Pooran would perform. He was the team’s costliest player at the auctions.

LSG actually had a different colour shade compared to the other teams in IPL 2022. However, a few fans did not take a liking to the colour of the jersey.
