‘There Will Be Excitement In The Series’-Former India Cricketer Feels That Everyone Will Be Excited To See Hardik Pandya As India Captain

WV Raman, a former cricketer for India, believes that all-rounder Hardik Pandya will soon be promoted to the position of captain for India. Going into the India Tour of Ireland for a two-match Twenty20 International series, in which Hardik has been appointed as the India captain, he predicted that there will be enthusiasm. Pandya led Gujarat Titans to victory in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) competition as the team’s captain. Gujarat Titans went on to win the title.

Raman said that everyone’s expectations have been elevated as a result of the manner Pandya led his team in the IPL. He said that the manner in which the Indian all-rounder in the competition accepted responsibility was the most admirable aspect of his performance. Raman is under the impression that the 28-year-old will go on in the same manner and inspire the others.

During a conversation with News24 Sports, Raman said, “There will be excitement in this series since Hardik Pandya is becoming the new captain of the Indian squad. The manner in which he commanded an IPL squad boosted the expectations of everyone. The finest thing I came across in the IPL was his tendency to accept responsibility for his actions. It is anticipated that he will go on in the same fashion and that he will agreeably inspire everyone.”

Raman also said how Hardik’s ability to perform well in all facets of the game will help the Indian squad achieve a better balance as they go into the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia. “The second point is that Hardik Pandya is a fantastic all-rounder, and he has begun bowling again. As a result, this will offer the squad strong balance when we compete in the World Cup. Hardik Pandya will become a very vital component of the squad if he regains some of his lost confidence in his bowling,” he added.

Hardik was named the Man of the Match for Gujarat Titans’ victory against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League championship game. He was the best of the bowlers, ending with stats of three wickets for 17 runs in four overs, and he also made an important contribution with the bat, hitting 34 runs off of 30 balls while trying to chase down a total of 131.

When Raman was questioned whether Hardik should lead the squad instead of Rohit Sharma, he responded by saying that we would have to wait to see how he leads the Indian team, adding that it depends on how the selection committee views the performance of the 28-year-old during the Ireland series. “We will have to see what is their (selection committee’s) beliefs, thoughts, and perspectives after viewing his captaincy for them to be able to make a judgment based on that,” said Raman.
